According to “Enhanced Online News (EON)”, “Four years after a record-breaking $700 million complete sellout, Trump International Hotel & Tower® Waikiki Beach Walk® is riding a new high. The ultra-luxury hotel-condominium located on prime Waikiki real estate announced that 317 units have closed to date for total sales of more than a half billion dollars with more closings in the coming weeks. Interest is strong with new sales continuing at a brisk pace.

Have You Been Thinking About Purchasing a Condotel in Waikiki?

According to the Honolulu Star Advertiser newspaper”, and the Hawaii Tourism Authority, Hawaii has hosted 597,487 visitors last month, up 12.2% from a year ago.  Arrivals from Canada grew 18.8%, and 18.7% increase of arrivals from Japan.  Also, visitors spending rose 19.8% to $1.2 billion.  The hotel occupancy and room rate are also rising.

I believe this bodes very well for condotels and the income derived from ownership.

Prices of condotel units in waikiki dropped signifiantly in 2008 and 2009.  We now see that prices ahve stabilized and may be working themselves back up again.  Several of the condotel units we have currently listed are showing excellent improvement and increase in income compared to the last several years.

According to the newspaper, “The International Hotel Waikiki Beach Walk Trump is declaring that it has reached a critical mass, with a large majority of rooms and suites in service more than a year after opening.

It’s been a long, slow buildup for the ultraluxury property.”

I have written several blog articles about the continuing improvements occurring at the Ilikai properties, located in west Waikiki, adjacent to the Hilton Hawaiian Village and the Ala Wai Yacht Harbor.

What are the Ilikai properties?  Primarily, we have two high-rise condominium buildings, the Ilikai Apartment Condos and the Ilikai Marina Condos.  You may read details about both buildings on our website at www.HNLCondos.com, including viewing floorplans, configurations and current listings.

The two buildings are joined by a second level pedestrian bridge and share some common areas.  In between the two buildings is a recently renovated building owned by Marriott Hotels and recently opened as the New Edition Waikiki, their flagship luxury boutique hotel, complete with the amazing Morimoto’s Restaruant in the lobby and pool deck level.

What a difference these improvements have made.  We recently walked through the hotel lobby, peeked in the restaurant and wandered through the outdoor lounge and pool deck.  Wow!

It’s Aloha Friday: Ilikai Hotel and Condos, Ilikai Marina Condos and New Edition Hotel Share the Benefits of New “Moroimoto’s” Restaurant

I love watching the Food Channel on TV and especially enjoy the “Iron Chef” television show, where Masaharu Morimoto is one of the featured Iron Chefs.  I’m even more excited that Morimoto has opened his own signature restaurant, Morimoto’s, just a few blocks from where I live and work in west Waikiki, Honolulu.

And, what’s exciting for the real estate scene in Waikiki is that this fabulously decorated and designed restaurant is a wonderful new addition to the Ilikai Apartments condominium building, the Ilikai Marina Condo Building and the Marriott’s New Edition Hotel, all adjoining properties.

I haven’t had a chance to eat at “Morimoto’s” yet, but I’m really looking forward to it.

Good News for Ilikai Condo Properties in Waikiki, Honolulu…….Marriott Completes $40 Million Renovation at New Edition Hotel

For those of you who have been watching the condo sales in the two adjacent buildings, the Ilikai Apartments and the Ilika Marina, take note that this major renovation and new luxury boutique hotel has greatly improved the overall feel and image of this significant harbor-front property located at the gateway to Waikiki Beach.

We recently walked through the hotel lobby and outdoor bar and were stunned to see such a major change.  It was modern, clean, chic, hip and active with people onjoying themselves.  Not only does this add one more unique, botique style hotel to the ara, but also includes a new Japanese restaurant, Morimoto’s, opened by the infamous Iron Chef.
