Although this new condo building, Allure Waikiki, located in west Waikiki was just completed a little over a year ago, after buying bought out by a private equity group, I’ve been reading “rumors” concerning planned renovations.
I say “rumored” because I have not been able to verify it through the Allure website or sales office, but have read news reports about it online.
Evidently, not only is the luxury Waikiki condo building, Allure Waikiki, going through some price restructuring, but may be planning a reported $3 million in renovations to help move the remaining 100 or more unsold condo units there.
Renovations could inlude lobby, community rooms, pool deck and the BBQ areas.

A few months ago I wrote a blog article, “Allure Waikiki: Bought by Private Equity Firms” about a Pivate Equity Firm buying out the remaining unsold units in Allure Waikiki in November 2010.
That company is known as ST Residential, a world class asset management company led by Greenwich, CT-based Starwood Capital Group (NYSE:STWD – News) and private-equity firm TPG of Fort Worth, TX, along with WLR LeFrak and Perry Capital.

According to “peHUB” and a Press Release from “Tomson Reuters”, “A group of private equity investors have teamed up to buy Allure Waikiki, a 35-story condo tower in Honolulu. ST Residential, which is managed by Greenwich, Conn.-based Starwood Capital Group; Fort Worth, Texas-based TPG Capital; WLR LeFrak and Perry Capital partnered on the deal, though no financial terms were released.”
