According to KHON News online, “Sales are beginning for units at a 43-story condominium building near downtown Honolulu.

A&B Properties, Inc. will begin sales Saturday for Waihonua at Kewalo.

The tower will be built between Ala Moana Center and Ward Center.

Developer Kewalo Development LLC, a subsidiary of A&B Properties, says it will be final high-rise condominium in that area.

Fee-simple prices will begin at $400,000 for one-bedroom units, $565,000 for two bedrooms and $720,000 for three bedrooms.

A&B Properties is Hawaii’s fourth-largest private landowner.”

“Without a scoop or two, no plate lunch is complete. And what would Spam musubi be without the stuff? It’s a staple in our home kitchens, at potluck picnics, and on the menus at countless Hawaii eateries.”

“The second annual Rice Festival, set for 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sun., at Ala Moana Beach Park’s Magic Island (Honolulu area), will celebrate our fav carbs with a celebrity chef “rice-ipe” competition and cooking demonstrations.

According to the Hawaii Reporter online, “Oahu’s Ala Moana Shopping Center in Kaka’ako (located between Waikiki and Honolulu, just opposite the Ala Wai Boat Harbor and Magic Island) was recently in the news.”

“A Better Homes & Gardens real estate office worked with Onboard Informatics to evaluate major U.S.A. shopping centers in their quest for finding the centers which have the most ‘fun’ activities while still being ‘frugal’ in their immediate area. They utilized zip codes and median home prices, etc.”

 

“Well, it turned out that our own Oahu’s largest center came in #2 with 273 bars and restaurants…..”

The Ala Moana neighborhood is just west of Waikiki, across the Ala Wai Canal. Mainly known for it’s Ala Moana Beach Park and the world famous Ala Moana Shopping Center as well as the Honolulu Convention Center, there is also closeby Ward Center with plenty of retail and restaurants, as well as Walmart and Ross stores.

As for real estate, the neighborhood offers primarily luxury highrise condos, where you’ll find such sought after buildings as Yacht Harbor Towers, Nauru Tower and Hawaiki Tower, as well as the newly built Ko’olani and Hokua. “The Howard Hughes Corporation owns the rights to develop a residential condominium tower over a parking structure at AlaMoanaCenter.”

“The parking structure is designed to accommodate the construction of a condominium tower and is located adjacent to Hawaii’s only Nordstrom store.”

The majority of the condos have between 600 and 850 interior square feet and small lanai (think 42 square feet) with ocean, mountain and city views.
