More About Honolulu Neighborhoods: Ala Moana
The Ala Moana neighborhood is just west of Waikiki, across the Ala Wai Canal. Mainly known for it’s Ala Moana Beach Park and the world famous Ala Moana Shopping Center as well as the Honolulu Convention Center, there is also closeby Ward Center with plenty of retail and restaurants, as well as Walmart and Ross stores.
As for real estate, the neighborhood offers primarily luxury highrise condos, where you’ll find such sought after buildings as Yacht Harbor Towers, Nauru Tower and Hawaiki Tower, as well as the newly built Ko’olani and Hokua. Many of these fine condos offer amazing views of the beach park, ocean and city.

Honolulu Condos: Plans to Build Luxury Condominiums on Ala Moana Center Moving Forward
According to the Honolulu KHON News Online, “The Howard Hughes Corporation announced it is partnering with The MacNaughton Group and Kobayashi Group to evaluate the development of a luxury condominium tower at AlaMoanaCenter.”
“”With their strong knowledge of the Hawaii market and experience developing first-class condominium towers, MacNaughton and Kobayashi are ideal partners to work with to explore the Ala Moana Tower opportunity,” stated David R. Weinreb, Chief Executive Officer of The Howard Hughes Corporation.”
“The Howard Hughes Corporation owns the rights to develop a residential condominium tower over a parking structure at AlaMoanaCenter.”
“The parking structure is designed to accommodate the construction of a condominium tower and is located adjacent to Hawaii’s only Nordstrom store.”
““We are looking forward to working with Howard Hughes to explore a first-class real estate opportunity connected to one of the world’s greatest shopping malls,” stated Duncan MacNaughton, Principal of The MacNaughton Group.”
